OMG This Song Book TAG

🎢 Tag Tuesday:  OMG This Song Book TAG- September 5th, 2017 πŸŽ΅

I have loved music since I was young and have been looking for something like this for quite a while. Books and Music, what a great combo. (Side note: I cannot just pick one song for any of these. Most will have more because I can sometimes be indecisive when it comes to music.)

This tag was originally created by Katesbookdate on BookTube here's a link to her video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm9eeABxK_Y

 1. MY JAM- a song you MUST listen to every time it comes on, no matter how old or how many times you've listened to it/ a book you'll never get sick of

πŸ‚ Song: "Livin on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi: I sing along to this song every single time that it comes on. It's definitely my jam. Also Elvis' "Burning Love" is a definite favorite.

πŸ‚ Book: the Harry Potter series by J. K Rowling: I could probably read this series every day and it would never get old.

2. THROWBACK- a song that reminds you of the cringest time of your life/ a book that also reminds you of this time (or just something you wouldn't like as much if you picked it up for the first time now)

πŸ‚ Song: 7 Things by Miley Cyrus: I always loved Miley Cyrus when I was younger (from sixth grade until around eleventh grade). I loved her show Hannah Montana, her movies, and also her music. This song and many of her others now really grind my gears, especially this one. I remember going to camp right around the time that this song came out and one of the girls singing it over and over again each night. This song was old back then and just hearing it now makes me cringe.

πŸ‚ Book: Maximum Ride series by James Patterson: I've never actually finished this series, but after six books, even fifteen-year-old me was sick of this series. The first three books in the series were good, but they started to get worse and worse. I know that if I tried to read the series now I would not be interested like I used to be. I don't really like Paranormal books and if I pick one up it has to be good and this is not one of them.

3. REPLAY- a recent song you have on repeat right now/ a recent favorite book

πŸ‚ Song: Brandon Stansell's "Slow Down"- This is a newer song that I found last month and I have fallen in love with all of his songs. I cannot wait for his full album to come out.

Another newer song that I have had on replay recently is "Young Love" by Eli Lieb. It is amazing.

πŸ‚ Book: Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor- Laini's writing style is so beautiful and I fell in love with this book from the first page. It joined my favorites from that page. I'm so glad that I got this one.

4. GETS ME- this song IS ME/ this book is me in book form

πŸ‚ Song: "Holy Ground" by Taylor Swift- The beat of this song just makes me want to dance every time I hear it. Also, the lyrics speak to me in a way that many of hers do. This is my favorite song by Taylor and one of my favorite songs. "Tonight, I'm going to dance, after all that we've been through."

πŸ‚ Book: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams- This book is just everything to me. It became an instant favorite of mine when I first read it and it also just has my favorite type of humor. Dry humor is just my thing and I cannot get enough of this.

5. WUT- weird but I like it- a unique book that stuck out to you for whatever reason

πŸ‚ Song: "Seagulls (Stop It Now)" from "Seagulls! (Stop It Now)"- A Bad Lip Reading of The Empire Strikes Back  YouTube video (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9t-slLl30E) - I have this whole song memorized and it is just a masterpiece. It makes me laugh every time and it also goes along with clips with one of my all time favorite movies. "Stop it now."

πŸ‚ Book: Holy Crap! The World is Ending! by Anna-Marie Abell- The first time I heard the description of this book I thought of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and I had to read it. This was one of the strangest books that I have ever read in my life but it is also hilariously funny. I don't read a lot of science fiction books, especially ones with aliens, but this was just so great. (I want to also mention that this is an adult book with many mature scenes. Just be warned.)

6. LET'S GO- best pump up song (for workouts or just life)- a book that inspired you
πŸ‚ Song: "Beat of the Music" by Brett Eldredge: One of my favorite country songs that always makes me up beat. Love it.

"Gloria" by Laura Branigan- I rock out to this song and that's usually when I'm writing. Every time this song comes on or the Glee version, I have to stop and sing it. Great pump up song.

πŸ‚ Book: This Star Won't Go Out: The Life and Words of Esther Grace Earl by Esther Earl, Lori Earl and Wayne Earl: This is the book that popped into my head as soon as I saw this question. I loved this girl with all of my heart when I read about her life and her works in this piece. It is one of my favorite memoirs to date.

7. CHILL- fav chill, relaxing song/ a book you'd curl up with and read on a rainy day

πŸ‚ Song: "Now and Forever" by Anne Murray- This an older song but it is one of the best. My mom and I have always had a similar taste in music and this is one of the ones that she introduced to me. It is phenomenal.

"I Try" by Macy Gray- This has been a favorite of my since I first heard it on the radio a long time ago. I love Macy's authentic voice. She has one of the most different and stunning voices. Also, the song is just so good.

πŸ‚ Book: I don't have just one specific book. A calming book for me is usually any poetry collection. One of the best I have ever read is Dear Future Boyfriend by Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz. I love this one so much and want to find others by her. Also, it's been five years since I read this. I need a reread sometime soon. Any poetry collection just relaxes me and also they are quick.

8. ADDICTING- guilty pleasures song- one that's catchy and addicting but not a whole lot of substance/ guilty pleasure/trashy/fast/ light read

πŸ‚ Song: "All Star" by Smash Mouth: I don't feel guilty at all for being in love with this song. This is another song that I have known since I was a kid and I just adore it. Makes me laugh every single time.

πŸ‚ Book: "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series by Ann Brashares: I have never once felt guilty about what I read. This series fits more in the category of a light read for me. I read the whole entire series (except for the fifth book because it wasn't out yet) when I was in eighth grade in a total of three days, December 26th- 28th 2007. At the age of fourteen, I did not read books that quickly usually, but there was just something about this series that made me inhale read them.

9. NOSTALGIA- throwback you look back on fondly/ a book you read forever ago that you look back on fondly on or reminds you of a happy childhood time

πŸ‚ Song: "Upside Down" by the A*Teens- I remember when I first heard this song on Disney Channel back in, I am pretty sure, 2000. I was around seven and I remember distinctly how much I danced around to it. This is a song that brings back so many memories and yes, I still remember every word.

"Supernova Girl" from Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century- Gosh this song, is everything to me. I might be listening to it on repeat right now. Obviously, I have every word memorized. It is the ultimate jam of my childhood.

And every Disney animated song basically.

πŸ‚ Book: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chobsky- This was a favorite of mine from back in high school. One of my best friends at the time had recommended it to me and I fell in love with it. I related to it at the time and Charlie felt like a friend.
