These are the relationships that start with the love interests hating each other and then they start to love each other overtime. This post contains spoilers from three movies, two books, and one tv show. So be prepared. Also these are not in any order.

5.) Jake and Melanie from Sweet Home Alabama: So my first in this list is from one of my favorite

movies. Both Jake and Melanie like each other as children but grow to hate each other into adulthood. Melanie goes back home to Alabama when she is trying to get married. She finds out that she is still married to her ex-husband Jake and goes home to finish the divorce. This is one of my favorite relationships and I just have always loved how they go from really despising each other to loving each other by the end. A great movie and romance. 

4.) Lena and Kostos from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares: 

They do not completely hate each other at the beginning of their love story but Lena does not like Kostos at the beginning of the first book in the series based on what she hears about him. Slowly over the course of the novel they fall in love learning about each other. This was one of my first relationships I rooted for so hard. I loved them and this series more than any other contemporary. 

3.) Belle and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast: So this is also a movie but there is a book that this is based on but I have never read it. The relationship between Belle and the Beast starts with both not being friendly at all to each other. Yeah, they hate each other, Belle is his captive and he is her captor. Slowly they begin a friendship and then they become something so much more. 

2.) Pacey and Joey from Dawson's Creek: Pacey and Joey is one of my top OTPs of all time. I love them so much. I grew up on Dawson's Creek and watched Pacey and Joey fall in love over the course of the series. They were endgame for me the whole time. I wanted nothing more than for them to be together. They began with banter, became friends, and slowly fell in love. It was beyond sweet and I still cannot help but smile when I am just thinking about them. Their banter is my favorite part of their relationship. 
Dawson, man you never had a chance. Thank god. :) 

My favorite episode of the show: 6.15 "Castaways".

1.) Simon and Baz from Carry On by Rainbow Rowell: This is one of my favorite novels and is definitely my favorite by Rainbow Rowell. Simon and Baz are based loosely off of Harry and Draco from the Harry Potter series. In this book Simon and Baz start out being enemies. They are each watching each other closely and Baz even wants to kill Simon. As the book continues we find out that this "hate" that they have for each other is more of a love. This is one of my favorite couples. 

Honorable Mention: Cher and Josh from Clueless: I have added in Cher and Josh to this list because I really do adore their relationship and just felt that this would not be a list of my favorite Hate to Love Ships without them. The movie begins with them not hating each other but also not really liking each other. Over the course of the movie we see their relationship grow and they are just so darn cute. Love them so much.

This is a post fully on relationships in books so this may contain some spoilers from books you may have not read yet. If you have not read any of these books before and don't want to know any of the side relationships in them do not read about the book.

5.) Gomez and Clarise from The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenger: 

These are two of the best friends that Henry and Claire have in the book. I always liked their relationship and both of the characters themselves. They were always great friends to Henry and Claire and were there for everything for them.

4.) Molly and Arthur Weasley from the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling: 

The Weasley family in Harry Potter and their relationship with Harry throughout each of the books is one of the best things about the books. Molly and Arthur were always so sweet together and their love for each other and their kids makes them such powerful figures in the book. The Weasleys become a family for Harry with Molly and Arthur becoming parental figures for Harry as he grows up. Their relationship has always been important to me and they made this list because they are one of the best relationships period in a book let alone side relationships. 

3.) Finn and Toby from Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt:

This is a couple we do not see too much of within the book and most of what we learn about their relationship is from what Toby tells our narrator. I loved this relationship in the book. We see what happens to Toby after the death of his love and how he has to deal with life without him. This is just as much his story as it is June's. 

2.) The Pillar and Fabola from The Insanity series by Cameron Jace: 
So this is a relationship that is somewhat hinted at through many of the books though we really never get many answers to what their relationship fully is. (I have not read the seventh book yet so I do not know if there is any of this in that book). This is one of my favorite series and I really like the hate relationship that they both have but there seems to be much more to it than what we have seen so far.

1.) Mother Goose and Merlin from The Land of Stories series: 
This made it so high on my list because it just makes me laugh thinking about them, not in a bad way. I really adore these characters so much. We are first introduced to Mother Goose in Chris Colfer's second novel in The Land of Stories series (again if you have not read the series this may spoil plot points for you.) First of all Mother Goose hands down is one of my favorite characters in Chris's series and also just one of my favorite characters. Her humor and cleverness is something I admire and just the scope of how awesome she is as a female character. She may be a nursery rhyme spotting off drunk who has been around in many different events in history. Her character is a joy to read about and is just hilarious in every scene. 

" 'Mother Goose! It's so good to see your face!' He (Connor) was in hysterics. 'If I had a gold coin for every time someone said that, I would be in debt,' she (Mother Goose) cracked."- Chris Colfer The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning. 

In the fourth book, Mother Goose meets Merlin in a King Arthur book and they hit it off. This relationship is not in the book too much but I enjoyed their interactions together and it made me laugh out loud a few times. Also, Merlin is one of my favorite literary characters of all time so it was great to see him in the series.
